Tom Chambers was born on June 21, 1959.

Chambers was drafted eight overall by the Clippers in 1981. He led his team in scoring (17.2 points) in his rookie season. In 1983, the Clippers dealt him to the SuperSonics for James Donaldson, who spent two-plus seasons with the team before going on to Dallas.

In 1987 Chambers made the first of four All-Star Games and scored 34 points on his way to winning MVP.

In June 1988 he accepted a trade to the Phoenix Suns and works for them to this day.

Chambers is the only eligible player to score 20,000 career points and not be inducted to the Hall of Fame.
