After many years of declining requests to participate in a documentary about her life, Danica Patrick finally heard the right pitch at the right time. The result is "Danica," which was directed by Hannah Storm and premieres 8 p.m. ET November 8 on EPIX.

"Now is a great time to do this documentary because I really do have a lot of things going on, a lot of new projects," Patrick says. "I feel like I've learned a lot about myself in the last few years, and there's a part of me that feels very open to share that. I also trust Hannah. Hannah Storm was a huge part of me saying yes to this documentary. I trust her. I've known her for a really long time, and anytime you're vulnerable and showing your whole self, you want to trust that the goal of the outcome is a positive one. There are no secret motives."

In addition to being an award-winning broadcaster, Storm has developed several documentaries through her company, Brainstormin' Productions. Storm says her work on projects with Shaquille O'Neal, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Sheryl Swoopes gave Patrick the confidence that her story would be told right.

"There was a body work and just a journalistic sensibility that, I think, she was really comfortable with," Storm says.
