Eric Dickerson says his NFL single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards has stood the test of time partly because teams are no longer committed to running the ball the way the Rams were back in 1984. Could these pass-happy offenses of the modern NFL also help Emmitt Smith stay atop the all-time rushing list? The Cowboys icon isn't so sure.

"I think the game evolves," Smith says. "It goes up and down. Sometimes it's passing, sometimes it's running. And I think we're slowly getting back to the running game."

That's why Smith says it's just a matter of when someone can break his mark of 18,355 yards, which he accumulated during 13 seasons with Dallas and two with Arizona.

Check out the video above for more from Smith, including what some might consider a surprising pick for his favorite vegetable.
