It was surely meant as nothing more than a little conversation starter between Saturday Night Live and its loyal fans.
But it spawned an all-out Twitter campaign to get the Final Five gymnasts to host for an episode this season. And the people leading the charge?
The Final Five, of course.
SNL tweeted this Wednesday:
Who do you think should host this season? Tweet us your suggestions with #SNLhost. pic.twitter.com/jUQysufHcG

And it didn't take long for four of the five gold medal-winning gymnasts to throw their collective hat into the ring.

Athletes tend to be hit-or-miss on SNL, but it'd be something to see those five assemble to host an episode. Seriously, it can't be worst than last season's Donald Trump episode.
